Victor Vembanyama goes all in on the team’s achievement

The San Antonio Spurs remained undefeated in February. This is a fact that is not lost Victor Vembanyama.
“It feels like an accomplishment. I guess, looking back, you could say it was a satisfying month.
“It feels good.”
In sending all 11 opponents they faced from February 1-26the stretch featured one game that could be considered close by most standards. And that victory brought a nine point difference.
“I think we only had one win, which was by single digits,” Wemby said, alluding to the team’s first contest of the month, a 112-103 victory against the Orlando Magic.
“Does that mean it was perfect? Not at all. But in hindsight, it’s never going to be perfect, so it’s pretty satisfying,” the Generation star continued.
The Spurs are righting the wrongs during the February streak
In a month starting at the end of December, The Spurs have struggled against teams that they themselves fought. After winning for the third time in 10 days against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Christmas Day, San Antonio lost at home to the Utah Jazz two nights later, going 11-19. By the time they fell to the New Orleans Pelicans on Jan. 6, the Spurs had dropped four of six with three of those shutouts coming within a second of Zwayle Cavalli’s record. it was a game above .500 when they entered San Antonio.
“We have shown that it is one of our weaknesses. I am thinking especially about the loss against Utah that we had in 2025. After a good series of big matches, we had a few more mediocre losses,” Vembanyama said.
During this 11-game winning streakthe team with the second best record in the West handled not only the three teams they faced with losing recordsbut he also took care of business in several contests against shorthand candidates.
“That was already my state of mind then. I think it’s something like a team that has potential, like a team that is growing and has some successes at the beginning of the season. For me, these are things that we have to go through. And even if we know that we have to accept all the games in the same way, those are the lessons that are best learned by failure, by losing games.”
“There is nothing that will hinder us. I think we have progressed in that respect, although we are not there yet,” added Spurs’ top scorer.
Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama talks about the title fight
Asked whether Spurs’ showing in February proves Spurs are legitimate title contenders, He did not give any assurances to Vembanjam.
“I can’t answer that because it’s my first time in this situation, but to talk about the floor; I think that was something we really had to raise at the beginning of the season to show that our ceiling is extremely high. We have a great record against the strongest teams in the league.”
In addition three of those wins against the defending NBA championsThe Spurs have beaten all but one Western Conference team that would qualify for an extended postseason, including the play-ins, if the season ends at the end of February. And the one team they haven’t surpassed — the Los Angeles Clippers — still hasn’t played.
The Spurs will face the Clippers in early March as they look to extend their league-best current stretch.
