Hornets’ Miles Bridges gives props to Kobe White for a “different atmosphere” off the bench

Charlotte Hornets a veteran Miles Bridges engaged in adding Coby Whiteas he has felt the difference off the bench since his team passed the trade deadline with the Chicago Bulls. The Hornets white made his debut against his former teamfinished with 10 points, four assists, three rebounds and one steal in a 131-99 win over Charlotte.

Bridges discussed how the arrival of White brings something new Hornets, he said, according to The Observer’s Rod Boone.

“Just a dynamic veteran bench guard. He’s doing a great job. He can score 20-30 (points) every night if he wants to, but just being a sixth man, that’s great for us,” Bridges said. “He’s playing in his hometown. So it feels especially good for him and he should be comfortable. We’re trying to make him comfortable here in his team and we’re happy to have him.”

Miles Bridges says he can feel the difference in how Hornets fans have stepped up their support for the team this season.

“It’s a different atmosphere,” Bridges said. “We’ll go to the away games, their team (the crowd) will be loud, cheering them on, and we didn’t have the same at home. Some people showed up. Now it’s like everyone is showing up, showing us love. But shout out to the fans who were down with us before, shout out to the fans now.”

The Hornets will host the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.

Facing his former team for the first time since his trade, the Hornets Kobe White reacted to his recent Bulls reunion. Before his trade to the Hornets, White’s only team during his NBA career was the Bulls.

You could imagine how it felt for White return to the Windy City for the first time as a member of the visiting team, he told CHSN.

“You don’t really know the impact you have on people. And the impact people have on me. I got a standing ovation and whatever, but so many people are here tonight, wearing my jersey, calling my name,” White said. “For me, it’s just trying to be in the moment. And just try to stay grounded. It’s very humbling to know how many people you’re impacting through this beautiful game that we play.”

The Hornets are now on a four-game winning streak.
