JJ Redick is a ‘confident’ truth bomb after dominating the Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers ended a three-game losing streak after theirs A 129-101 win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. The Lakers showed the kind of all-out effort that head coach has from start to finish JJ Redick looking for the whole season.

Some Lakers problems this season can be attributed to lineup inconsistency and injury rotation, and JJ Redick acknowledged as much after the team’s win against the Warriors. But some of that also came down to the energy and intensity, or lack thereof, that the Lakers displayed at times.

But after a full 48 minutes of effort against the Warriors, Redick admitted he believes the team can pull it off eventually reach the level where he wants them before the season ends.

“Like I said before the game, these guys want to get it right. They’re trying. I know my staff, myself, we’re always looking for answers and solutions. That’s what we’re trying to find solutions for,” Redick said in a postgame press conference. “I am confident that we will find the level we want to reach.”

“That was partly just the roster disruption and different factors. We just didn’t have the continuity that I thought we were going to have going into this year,” Redick continued. “It’s taken longer than I thought, but I’m confident we’ll get there.”

After the win against the Warriors, the Lakers moved to 35-24 on the season. They are just two games behind the No. 3 seed Houston Rockets in what is shaping up to be a competitive race for the Western Conference standings heading into the regular season.

There are only three and a half games separating the No. 3 seed and the No. 7 seed. The Phoenix Suns are currently in seventh place. The seventh seed would be right in front and make the playoffs and would have to go through the play-in.

Last season, the Lakers finished with the third seed in the Western Conference playoffs, but were eliminated in the first round in five games by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Redick is in his second year as the head coach of the Lakers, and the team is currently in sixth place in the Western Conference standings. They’re just a game and a half up on the Suns and potentially falling into the game. They have 22 games left in the regular season to consistently show the level of competitiveness that Redick is confident they can reach.
