Injury update on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander after OKC’s win against the Mavericks
In his second game back from an abdominal injury, the All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander he led Oklahoma City Thunder to a 100-87 victory against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder’s comeback with 16 points in a 127-121 win against the Denver Nuggets on Friday before watching his team close out the victory in overtime.
In Sunday’s game, Gilgeous-Alexander followed up his 36 points in 34 minutes against the Nuggets with a 30-point performance against the Mavericks in Sunday’s win, and he gave the reporters an update on the injuries during his media availability after the game.
“Good,” Gilgeous-Alexander replied. “I stepped it up in practice leading up to the games I knew I was coming back in. The guys that helped me in practice did a pretty good job of getting their legs ready to play. So I’m feeling pretty good. As far as the cardiologist goes, I don’t feel like I’ve missed a beat.”
Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 30 points on 12-of-20 shooting, five assists, four rebounds and four steals in 33 minutes.

Snapping Hall of Fame center Wilt Chamberlain’s 20+ point streak at 126 consecutive games, Gilgeous-Alexander tied Chamberlain’s record of 59 20+ point games on the road.
Daigneault discussed The Gilgeous-Alexander streak is a testament to his consistent approach to the Thunder.
“There’s really no difference in his game, at home or on the road. I think that’s a certain level that some guys get to,” Daigneault said. “It’s just their ability to perform consistently in all environments. We have a lot of guys like that in their role, but he’s certainly one of them.”
Gilgeous-Alexander extended his 20+ point streak to 123 consecutive games.
