Schneider’s honest 7-word reaction to the impact of selling the team

The Seattle Seahawks they were the story of the 2025 NFL season, culminating in their Super Bowl victory. However, the victory didn’t last long, as he is now the biggest story surrounding the franchise who will buy them now that they are on sale. The Seahawks have been for sale since Paul Allen’s death without an owner, so the question now is who will end up buying the team.

At the NFL combine, the topic of sales came up with both coaches Mike Macdonald and general manager John Schneiderand both said it was business as usual for the franchisedespite speculation that they could have a new owner sooner rather than later, with Jody Allen putting the team up for sale.

“It’s business as usual for us,” Schneider said.

The Seahawks only have four draft picks this year. Schneider said part of the reason for that was that Seattle expected last year’s draft class to be stronger than 2026 and wanted to take advantage of the abundance of talent in 2025.

The biggest task Schneider has in front of him is trying to lock up Kenneth Walker III, who won the Super Bowl MVP. However, return specialist Rasheed Shahid, tight end Boye Maffe, safety Kobe Bryant, and cornerbacks Josh Jobe and Rick Woolen will also draw attention in free agency.

Head coach Mike McDonald also stressed the importance of growing as a franchise, not getting complacent about winning a Super Bowl and understanding the fragility of implementing a winning culture in a building.

“The principle of our operation is that we want to achieve daily goals – a daily standard of what we’re trying to achieve to become a championship team again,” McDonald said. “It’s really going to be that simple. How we build the offseason program and what we do on a day-to-day basis, it’s going to look a little different for a variety of reasons.”

“But how we do our job, how we communicate with each other, and how we attack schematically and how we put things together, all of that will remain the same.”
