Kevin Durant feels bullish in the Trae Young-Anthony Davis era

The Houston Rockets he pulled off a hard-earned victory, 123-118, against Washington Wizards at the Capital One Center on Monday, with Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun does most of the damage.

What was considered a one-sided affair for the Rockets became a tough competition, as The Wizards played tough against a ragtag team role player.

Washington, however, will finally have a star on the floor when Trae Young makes his debut on Thursday against the Utah Jazz. Young missed most of the season with an MCL injury.

Durant, who was a Wizards fan during his childhood, expressed his excitement for Young’s return. He added that the duet of Yang and Anthony Davis should work wonders for Washington, who lived in the basement for a long time.

“He’s (Young) dynamic. A guy who can create for everybody else, score for himself. He’s going to make it easier for everybody else on the floor. He’s a true point guard. Right now, they’re kind of doing it by committee, so with him out there, it’s going to ease everybody’s mind and their game, and they’re just going to be able to fit into their role in Spa City,” Durant said.

“I’m excited for the hometown team. I’m excited for AD to pull on the jersey and represent the city as well. I see bright things in their future.”

The Wizards acquired Young and Davis at the trade deadline. When both are healthy, they could really provide two-way production and make the Wizards competitive right now.

The starting unit of Young, Davies, Bilal Koulibaly, Kyshon George and Alex Sarr has the right mix of experience, youth, power and speed. They can also be effective on both ends.

A fresh start could also be good for Young and Davis, who have a combined 14 All-Star appearances.
