LA will save $9.7 million by shedding the former Super Bowl champion

The Los Angeles Chargers they made the playoffs again during the 2025 NFL season. Unfortunately, the The Chargers laid another egg in the first round AFC Playoffs. LA should feel the pressure to upgrade their roster this offseason to help overcome issues in 2026. They plan to part ways with one veteran to create more cap space before the league’s new year.
The Chargers they are planning to release the Guard veterans Mekhi Becton ahead of NFL free agency, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. The move will save LA $9.7 million in cap space.
Becton started 14 games during his first season with the Chargers. He is a former Super Bowl champion with the Eagles.
