Charlotte becomes the first to accomplish the feat in 2025-26 with a Mavs victory

Charlotte Hornets continued their dominant stretch on Tuesday night with a A 117-90 win over the Dallas Mavericksbecoming the only team in the NBA this season to record five straight wins by at least 15 points.

According to ClutchPoints, Charlotte’s latest explosion extended a remarkable streak of decisive victories during its recent rise. The Hornets have beaten five straight opponents by double digits by at least 15 points, a feat no other team in the league has accomplished during the 2025-26 season.

The streak includes a 27-point win over the Mavericks, along with a 16-point win over the Portland Trail Blazers, a 24-point win over the Indiana Pacers, a 32-point win over the Chicago Bulls and a 17-point win over the Washington Wizards.

Charlotte’s recent success marks a dramatic turnaround from earlier in the season. The Hornets were 13-25 after a narrow 114-112 loss to Indiana on Jan. 8, a point that seemed to serve as a turning point for the team.

Since that defeat, Charlotte moved up in the standings, improving to 31-31 and climbed to ninth place in the Eastern Conference. The return to .500 marks the franchise’s first return to an even record since the first week of the season, when the Hornets started 2-2 before losing to the Miami Heat 144-117 on Oct. 28.

The recent streak has been fueled by strong defense and balanced scoring, which has allowed Charlotte to consistently separate from opponents early and maintain control throughout the second half of games. The Hornets’ ability to reel off back-to-back convincing wins has positioned them as one of the league’s hottest teams entering the final stretch of the regular season.

Charlotte will look to extend their momentum on Wednesday night when they travel to face the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM ET.

Boston enters the match with momentum of its own. The Celtics (41-20) have won three straight games, including a A 108-81 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday evening at Giannis Antetokounmpo’s return from an extended calf injury.

With both teams on winning streaks, Wednesday’s contest will offer Charlotte another chance to extend its historic streak of dominance as it continues to move up the Eastern Conference standings.
