Aaron Gordon laughs about his ‘Shaktin’ a Fool’ moment at the Wizards game

Any given night in the NBAthere is plenty of comedy. During Denver Nuggets‘ With a 117-110 victory over the Washington Wizards on Thursday night, the basketball gods wasted no time in mocking the sport, which came in Aaron Gordoncost. In the first quarter, with more than nine minutes left, Alex Sarr somehow scored a bucket after a ball that slipped from his fingers ricocheted off Gordon’s face and straight toward the glass and in a hoop.

That basket ended up being the moot point for the Nuggets, as they cruised to a comfortable enough victory over the Wizards thanks to another incredible outing by Peyton Watson. That’s why he’s Gordon he didn’t even hesitate to laugh at himself for that unfortunate turn of events that ended up being in favor of the opposition.

“That was hilarious. I need that highlight, man. It’s going to be ‘Shaktin’ a Fool’ for sure. I had an own goal, but never before. That was impressive,” Gordon said after the game, per Bennett Durand of the Denver Post . “(When the ball was in the air, I thought,) ‘Fuck it.'”

Gordon finished with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists tonight as the Nuggets moved to 30-15 on the season.

If this were any other season for the Nuggets, losing Nikola Jokic would be catastrophic. Jokic is currently recovering since a knee injury, and Denver hasn’t fallen off a cliff – thanks to their improved depth, a huge rebound from Watson and continued solid play from Gordon and possibly Jamal Murray’s first All-Star game.

The Nuggets should get Jokic back soon and should be a title-contending team, provided they put their injury woes in the rearview mirror.
