Adam Silver deeply saddened by FBI investigations into Terry Rozier, Chauncey Billups

Just days into the season, the NBA was rocked FBI investigation into illegal gambling activities. In addition the arrests of Chauncey Billups and Terry Rozierother big names in the league are dealing with the implications.
Among them are legends like Kevin Garnett, who is allegedly involved in an illegal poker game. Meanwhile, the NBA commissioner Adam Silver is still trying to process it allaccording to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
Silver told Cassidy Hubbart on Amazon Prime that he was saddened by the investigation and that the league was cooperating with the FBI.
“We’ve worked with the government and they have extraordinary powers that the league office doesn’t have,” Silver said.
The ongoing investigation is focused on two separate schemes. The first to involve rigged poker games in collaboration with members of the mob. Another involves players and coaches providing injury information to bookies.
So far, 34 people have been arrested. Other names mentioned in the investigation include former player and assistant coach Damon Jones. Jones allegedly texted an accomplice about LeBron James being out with an injury during a February 2023 game.
As a result, bettors would place higher odds on the Lakers.
List of scandals during Adam Silver’s tenure as NBA commissioner
There were some notable scandals that occurred with Silver at the helm. In 2014, his first year as commissioner replacing David Stern, he had to deal with the fallout from Clippers owner Donald Sterling making racist comments about his players in a leaked audio recording.
Silver issued a lifetime ban on Sterling.
Then in 2022, Silver issued a one-year suspension to Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver after an investigation revealed a history of racist and sexist behavior. As a result, Sarver had to sell the team.
Silver 2024 issued a lifetime ban on former player Jontay Porter for ironic sports betting. Basically, it was found that he was working with better people to profit from his performance.
