Against the Bucks, the Nets walked on water

From the beginning of this meeting between the Bucks and the Nets, the players of Brooklyn must have felt that the wind was in their favor when the pass of Nic Clacton bounced off the ref’s heel before returning to the hands Terrance Mann for a 3-point shot. The action that is part of the first quarter won 37:25.

In this match, the Nets did not lose a single quarter. Even better, they walked on water throughout the match and significantly kept the Bucks from scoring a single point over the final seven minutes of the game.

“When you manage to prevent a team from scoring for seven minutes, that’s a high level.” rejoices Noah the Clown after the meeting. “It’s the NBA, you don’t do that often.

On the cloud for 48 minutes, The Nets won by a wide margin of 127 to 82. With this 45-point success, Brooklyn tied the franchise record for most wins. You have to go back to January 9, 1993 to see such a victory, when the Nets played in New Jersey and dominated the Washington Bullets 124-79.

A collective that shines

Going back to this great success against the Bucks, this victory is first and foremost a collective one. If no one put up more than twenty points, nine players reached the ten point bar with, in the lead, Egor Demin and his 17 points. The only player who entered without a goal is the Frenchman Nolan Traore, but he registered three assists in nine minutes of play.

“It was very pleasing to see us playing well collectively,” appreciate assistant Steve Hetzelreplacing Jordi Fernandes during this match, absent due to flu. “Usually Michael Porter Jr. carries us offensively, but when you look at how the points are distributed, I don’t think anybody came out with a bad game tonight.”

This success consolidates the good momentum of the moment in Brooklyn. The Nets have won four of their last six games, averaging 116 points on 39% shooting. A very average percentage, but an increase compared to the 35% they posted since the start of the season.

“Probably the best form of basketball is when everyone is touching the ball, the team is playing well and the shots are going in.” continues Noah Clowney. “There is a great spirit of camaraderie.”

The good start will be confirmed at the end of the year, where the Nets’ schedule will get a little more complicated, especially with two upcoming home games against the Heat and Raptors.
