Against the Wolves, the Knicks remain untouchable at home
While the Wolves found Anthony EdwardsThe Knicks had a rough start to the game. They couldn’t find a way to the basket for more than four minutes, missing six shots in a row. Then everything is better and the machine is set. In contrast, it is not the guard who shines, but former New York player Julius Randle (28-26). Both teams circulate the ball very well and the game is enjoyable. Chris Finch’s troops hit the hardest in the second quarter, with the skillful Donte DiVicenza making 3 points and the score 14-0 (54-58).
The Knicks’ response came after the break, with a 10-0 run and a very valuable contribution of offensive rebounds. Mitchell Robinson does the damage and it’s Anthony Edwards who limits the damage in the third quarter. New York clearly took control (94-86). As confirmed in the last act, the Wolves cannot stop the bleeding in defense. Mike Brown and his players logically won 137-114 and thus signed the third victory in a row.
WHAT TO REMEMBER
– The return of Anthony Edwards. After missing a few games, the All-Star is back. It was average, neither good nor bad. Not good because he’s clumsy (5/13 shooting, 3 turnovers), not bad because his 15 points and 5 assists in 28 minutes can’t be dismissed and he clearly wasn’t transparent. Recovery, therefore, where he did not force himself.
– Offensive rebounding and benching in New York. With 21 offensive rebounds, the Knicks hurt the Wolves in this area. That gave Karl-Anthony Towns and company 31 second-chance points. The best part about working out? Mitchell Robinson with 9 catches! We can also add that New York’s replacements weighed in: Josh Hart with 18 points, Miles McBride with 14 units.
– The Knicks remain undefeated at Madison Square Garden. This third straight victory is notably the fifth at home in five matches since the start of the season for New York. Good news because the next four matches will still be played at the Garden.
