Alec Caruso gives full support to Texas A&M for the CFB game

After the Minnesota Timberwolves surrendered to Oklahoma City The Thunder’s third loss of the 2025-26 regular seasona veteran Alec Caruso returned to his alma mater, Texas A&M, for a College Football Playoff game on Saturday. After a 112-107 loss to the Timberwolves, Caruso watched the Aggies play the University of Miami at Kyle Field.

Caruso discussed why this was so college football playoff game he couldn’t miss, he said, according to ESPN’s College Gameday.

“It’s great. I try to get back to the game every year at the beginning of the season,” Caruso said. “With the special circumstances this year, with the basketball season, I got the opportunity to come back. I couldn’t miss the first game of the College Football Playoff at home.”

Caruso, who grew up in College Station, Texas, about 15 minutes from campus, made a detour on the way back to Oklahoma City, which is about 375 miles from Texas A&M. Caruso and the Thunder will host the Memphis Grizzlies at the Pike Center on Sunday.

Before the defending champions surrendered their second loss in three games, which began with the Spurs having their 16-game winning streak snapped in the NBA Cup semifinals, Caruso warned the Thunder about the brutal part games. That warning came ahead of, ironically, facing the Timberwolves, who had just handed the Thunder their third straight loss, in late November.

While the undermanned Thunder posted impressive wins over the Jazz, Blazers and Suns, Caruso knew the December schedule would be a significant challenge for your team.

“I’m just trying to continue the consistency that we started this year. Obviously, we’re off to a great start, but there are still areas for improvement,” Caruso said. “And I think some of the teams we’re going to play soon will really push us and see if we’re really committed to the things we’re talking about – which I think we are. But that’s what counts is putting in the work and getting into the games. I’m looking forward to some of those games to come.”

The Thunder are now 25-3.
