Alex Karaban makes Huskies history with his 116th career victory
Alex Karaban achieved an impressive career success after the number 6 The UConn Huskies beat Georgetown 79-75 Hoyas on Saturday night.
Karaban is in the fourth season of his collegiate career with the Huskies. After redshirting as a freshman, Karaban has since embraced full-time responsibilities as one of the program’s top stars. This past season saw him develop into one of the best players in the sport as a two-way standout on the wing.
During his tenure at UConn, Karaban has experienced many victories. And after leading the team with 18 points, three rebounds and two steals, he made program history. He became the best player of all time in Huskies history after earning his 116th win and counting.

As Alex Karaban, UConn played against Georgetown

It’s an impressive feat for Alex Karaban to have earned during his career at UConn. Helping them take down their conference opponent in Georgetown was the cherry on top.
The Huskies boasted the lead for most of the game, leading 41-33 at halftime. The Hoyas fought back in the second half as they cut the deficit to make it close. However, their efforts weren’t enough as UConn made back-to-back big plays to pull out the home win.
Five players scored in double figures for UConn in the win, including Karaban. He shot 5-of-8 from the field, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Solo Ball led the team with 20 points, six rebounds and four assists. Silas Demery Jr. was next with a near triple double of 15 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists. Meanwhile, Brailon Mullins and Eric Reibe contributed 10 points each.
UConn improved to 24-2 overall, going 14-1 in the Big East so far. They control first place in the conference standings, above St. John’s Red Storm and the Villanova Wildcats.
The No. 6 Huskies will look forward to their next matchup, staying at home. They host the Creighton Blue Jays on February 18th at 7pm ET.
