An old LeBron James tweet has gone viral amid the NBA gambling scandal

With several individuals in the NBA under investigation for gambling scandals, sports fans seem to be digging up old tweets that may or may not look a little fishy. That certainly seemed to be the case for Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron Jamesas numerous fans made one of his old posts go viral on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In 2019, the 40-year-old forward was responding to post asks if he plans to bet on the NFL game between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys. James joked that the word “betting” is his middle name.

“Beth is my middle name. LeBron Raymond-Beth James! Let’s get it.”

X users flooded the old post with comments and reactions to Thursday’s news that Chauncey Billups, Terry Rozier and Damon Jones were involved in gambling scandals. Some people tagged the FBI, while others shared memes or made jokes.

Right here @Kash_Patel,” said one individual.

One fan begged“Not like this king.”

“LeBron talked about an NFL game. We’re clear, he’s good,” another user pointed out.

This person stated“Brother, please delete.”

FBI investigation did not name LeBron James as part of NBA gambling scandal. Additionally, as one sports fan pointed out, his comment in 2019 was about an NFL game. So that would suggest that the four-time MVP was not allegedly involved in betting on basketball games.

The only reason for now LeBron James’ name came up is under investigation because Damon Jones allegedly tipped off individuals about James’ health so they could place bets. The Lakers star doesn’t seem to be a punter on NBA games.

James missed the Lakers’ 119-109 season-opening loss to the Golden State Warriors. LeBron James is said to be dealing with sciatica. It is unclear when he plans to return to action, but he is expected to eventually return to play for Los Angeles.
