Analyst predicts Isaiah Stewart will be suspended 10 games for Hornets brawl

The Detroit Pistons secured a 110-104 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night, but the game was completely overshadowed by a heated on-court brawl that broke out in the third quarter. The chaos began after Jalen Duren shoved Moussa Diabate after a foul, leading to a heated exchange between the two teams. The situation was escalated by Isaiah Stewart, who was on the bench at the time charging to the floor to attack Miles Bridges after Bridges punched Duren.

Stewart was among four players sent off, along with Duren, Bridges and Diabat.

After the ejection, Stewart gave a blunt, viral explanation for his actions, noting that he was recruited to Detroit to bring the right level of toughness and that he wouldn’t just stand on the sidelines while his teammates struggled.

The league is now preparing for significant disciplinary action, particularly for Stewart, given his history of physical altercations.

According to ClutchPoints , Bobby Marks said live on ESPN NBA: “When you talk about what’s happened in the past, I think Isaiah Stewart (will be suspended) 10 games.

His prediction reflects possibly the NBA’s harsh stance on players who leave the bench to engage in a fight, a violation that historically draws severe penalties.

Stewart is no stranger to such discipline, having previously served a two-game suspension in 2021 following a bloody altercation with LeBron James.

While Stewart is criticized for his aggression, his teammates Duncan Robinson is facing a different kind of backlash.

FanDuel TV’s Lou Williams called out Robinson for seemingly walking away from a fight while his teammates were still engaged.

Williams argued that turning his back during the altercation could damage trust in the locker room, even if Robinson has been a key contributor this season.

The Pistons, who have a long history of physical play dating back to the Bad Boys and Evil in the Palace era, now head into their Wednesday matchup against the Toronto Raptors with the threat of multiple suspensions and fines hanging over the organization.
