Andrew Wiggins’ reaction to the warm welcome to Golden State

Miami Heat forward Andrew Wiggins must have felt homesick as he returned to the Chase Center on Monday to face the Golden State Warriors.
Before being shipped to HeatWiggins played for the Warriors from 2020 to 2025, winning a championship in 2022. He was a key player on a team that featured guard Stephen Curry and forward Draymond Green, though personal issues dogged him during his later tenure in Golden State.
It was his first game in the Bay Area, and fans expressed their appreciation for the talented winger. Wiggins had a huge smile like him showered with applause when presented.

Wiggins averaged 16.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists in six years with the Warriors. He was a reliable two-way player, providing the team with more stability, versatility and dynamism. In 2022, he was selected as a starter in the All-Star game.
The former No. 1 overall pick played a key role in the Warriors’ run to the title that year, as they defeated the Boston Celtics in six games. Some even considered him a close second to Curry as the Finals MVP. In the series, he averaged 18.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
Last year, the 30-year-old Wiggins was traded to the Heat in a five-team midseason trade that included Jimmy Butler going to the Warriors.
While it was a hard pill to swallow, Wiggins admitted that the NBA is a businessadding that he can always “look on the bright side of things.” He also applauded the Heat’s winning culture.
Miami is beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 122-120 on Saturday, and Wiggins made a key 3-pointer.
