Anthony Davies’ reaction to Nick Harrison’s sacking sparks backlash from fans

In a move that did not shock anyone, c Dallas Mavericks replaced the general manager Nico Harrison earlier this month. Harrison came under fire after last season’s shocking Luka Doncic trade, and amid the Mavericks’ struggles this season, calls for his firing have only grown louder. Anthony Daviscenterpiece of the trade for the Mavericks, recently shared his thoughts on the layoff, which incurred the wrath the team’s fan base on social networks.
Anthony Davies offered some support to Nick Harrison after his firing, saying he wanted to help Harrison fulfill the vision he had for the Mavericks. That didn’t go down so well with Mavericks fans, with some accusing Harrison of trying to rush Davis back from injury to save face.

Your guy put you in the worst possible situation. This is your legacy now. Think about that the next time the two of you talk.

Others blamed Davis’ injuries and limited availability since joining the Mavericks as the catalyst for Harrison’s firing.
It’s your fault AD. You haven’t played in a week since you got to Dallas

Still, some urged fans to be empathetic toward the players, as they are at the mercy of the front office and ownership.
This is where we as the fanbase need to show some empathy and realize that it’s totally valid for AD to feel this way. As always in the postluka era.. the pressure should be on ownership and management, not the players.

Either way, it’s clear that the Mavericks organization still has a long way to go to regain its fan base, as the backlash from the Doncic trade continues to be huge. As some fans have mentioned, Davis’ availability remains a sore point, especially after Doncic’s hot start to the season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
But help could be on the way soon. Davis will return from a calf injury it kept him sidelined for almost a month. With the Mavericks facing the Lakers on Friday in the final game of the NBA Cup bracket, Davis could return for what would be his first game at Cripto.com Arena since the trade. He didn’t suit him during the Mavericks’ visit to Los Angeles last season after the trade.
Davis has appeared in just five games this season with just over 29 minutes per game. He averaged 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks on 52 percent shooting from the field, 27.3 percent from the 3-point line and 74.2 percent from the free throw line.
