Anthony Davis disputes “unfortunate” reports after Washington trade

Anthony Davis he has a message for skeptics: he’s happy, he’s healthy, and he’s ready to revitalize Washington Wizards. After a whirlwind trade deadline deal sending shockwaves around the league, the 10-time All-Star descended on DC to tour his new home.
Davis wasted no time disputing reports that he was “unhappy” about the move from the Dallas Mavericks. In a video message to fans, a smiling Davis expressed his excitement, noting that he is already touring the arena and facilities.
“I’m so excited to be here. I can’t wait to get started.”

The trade itself was a monster swap of eight players. The Washington Wizards sent Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malachi Branham and Marvin Bagley III to the Mavericks, along with a number of draft picks.
In return, the Wizards secured Davis and three guards in D’Angelo Russell, Jaden Hardy and Dante Exum. While some critics questioned Dallas trading away the centerpiece of their Luka Doncic deal from a year ago, Washington betting on Davis-Trae Young matching.
Adding to the drama, Davis chose to wear No. 23, a number that hasn’t been touched in Washington since Michael Jordan’s final retirement in 2003. While the choice sparked controversy among fans who protected MJ’s legacy, Davis is no stranger to the numbers, having worn them for years with the New Orleans Pelicans during his dominance.
Davis joins a Wizards team that has shown signs of life lately, most recently beating the Detroit Pistons 126-117 behind a 20-point Will Riley performance. With Davis (averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds this season) entering the game, The wizards have apparently finished rebuilding phase. If “The Eyebrow” can stay on the floor, the Eastern Conference hierarchy just got a big shakeup.
