Anthony Edwards is 100% honest about Tyrese Maxey’s dunk

Tyrese McKay put on a show as the Philadelphia 76ers won Minnesota Timberwolves135-108, at Target Center on Sunday, s Anthony Edwards sits in the frontcourt— unfortunately for him.

Maxey had a game-high 39 points on 16-of-28 shooting, along with three rebounds, eight assists and two steals. The 76ers snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 31-26.

They also ended the Timberwolves’ three-game winning streak, which fell to 35-23. Minnesota played without Rudy Gobert and Naz Reed due to a one-game suspension and a shoulder injury, respectively.

In the third quarter, Maxey gave the 76ers even more momentum after making big dunks on Anthony Edwards and Joan Beringer.

After the game, Edwards acknowledged Maxey’s big hit and gave his teammate an All-Star berth high praise.

“He’s amazing. He already knows he’s one of my favorite players to watch in the league. And he nailed me today. I don’t really like that. He played great,” Edwards said in a video posted by Timberwolves reporter Andrew Dukowitz.

“I didn’t know it was going downhill. I just turned my head. I thought he was going to lay it up and then he went and hit it. And it was like a little quick dunk. I didn’t even get a chance to block it. But yeah, that’s why we play the game. I’m not mad about it.”

Ant-Man has always been real during interviews, and it’s nice to hear him give Maxie props. While 24-year-old Edwards is known to talk a lot about the floor, he’s just as generous with his compliments.

He finished with 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. He also had seven turnovers.

The Timberwolves will face the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday.
