Anthony Edwards joins LeBron James’ club after All-Star success
Career of Anthony Edwards is on a rapid upward trajectory, and he’s established himself as a surefire Hall of Famer even though he’s only six seasons into his NBA career. The Minnesota Timberwolves star has a lot of accomplishments this early in his career, the latest of which was winning the All-Star Game MVP on Sunday night after totaling 32 points as his team, Team USA Stars, won the whole thing.
Edwards scored 32 points in three games and was the Stars’ most consistent player in their NBA All-Star game-winning performance, earning himself the MVP award. And in this way, he became the only player in the history of the NBA LeBron James score 10,000 points or more, win an Olympic gold medal, become the MVP of the All-Star Game, and fits the hype as the No. 1 overall pick before he turns 25, as pointed out by OptaSTATS on X (formerly Twitter).
The Timberwolves star, of course, lacks one key element of LeBron’s experience; he has yet to lead his team to the NBA Finals and has yet to win overall MVP honors, which James has accomplished at age 24. But Edwards has time on his side to figure it out.
Anthony Edwards’ next goal is to get the Timberwolves over the hump

As confident as Edwards is, he knows legacies are cemented when one’s team is the last one standing in June. The Timberwolves have yet to do that in their history; they haven’t even made it past the conference finals yet.
This is now Edwards’ next goal — to drag the Timberwolves across the Western Conference backwaters. And if he somehow brings Minnesota a championship, then that alone should earn him induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
