Anthony Edwards pulls Draymond Green, heads to locker room early

Wednesday afternoon, The Minnesota Timberwolves scored floor on the way against Atlanta Hawks for the New Year’s game. The Timberwolves fell behind eighth at the beginning of this match, so in the first half they trailed by as many as 27 points, and in the second half they never got closer than 14.
Timberwolves coach Chris Finch decided to pull his starters early in the fourth quarter with the game out of reach, and one person who didn’t take kindly to it was none other than star Anthony Edwards.
“Anthony Edwards just threw his towel in the air during a huddle timeout and left the floor,” reported Chris Hine of the Minnesota Star Tribune on X, formerly Twitter.
“To my eye, Ant was at the time-out ready to continue playing. It happened when he seemed to find out that Finch was emptying the bench,” he added.
The incident was not unlike the recent altercation between Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green and head coach Steve Kerr, in which Green appeared in the locker room after a timeout altercation and did not return to the game.
To his credit, Edwards did his best to keep the Timberwolves in the game Wednesday in Atlanta, scoring 30 points with five rebounds, but overall, Minnesota looked like the team that spent Tuesday night in the Magic City for the most part.
In any case, the Timberwolves will next take to the floor on Saturday against the Miami Heat.
