Anthony Edwards received the NBA’s best label from Rich Paul
Anthony Edwards exceeded all expectations from him from Minnesota Timberwolves drafted him No. 1 overall in 2020. Fans thought he wasn’t playing basketball the way someone would want a No. 1 draft pick to be, but he shattered everyone’s perception of him as he became a true competitor leading the Timberwolves to heights they’ve barely reached in the past.
Edwards, in every second he spends on the court, he believes as if he is the best player in court regardless of who he shares the court with. The Timberwolves star, as fans would say now, has that “davg” in him, because he enjoys going up against the best and proving he’s better than them.
This belief that Edwards has in himself is so contagious that the star agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, which, as he remembers, he once had a Timberwolves star as a client before he decided to change national teams in 2023 also all in on the hype.
“I still think it’s a community, but I think that community is led by Anthony Edwards. I think Anthony Edwards is the best player in our league today,” Paul said on the Game Over podcast with Max Kellerman. “He’s the best player in the NBA, yes.”

Paul may be using his ability to sweet talk his clients to bring Edwards back to Klutch Sports, but even then, the Timberwolves star has certainly accomplished a few things that make him worthy of such publicity. Now, calling him the “best” player in the NBA might be a bit hyperbolic. Regardless, Paul believes Edwards stands tall among his peers.
“The face of the league against the best player. The face of the league, you have to grow into that, it’s something different. But the best player? Yeah, he’s the best player. You can’t watch a game any night against anybody and look at that game and say that person is better than Anthony Edwards,” Paul added.
