Anthony Edwards reveals the summer disaster that caused the Bulls’ beating

The Minnesota Timberwolves opened their four-game road trip with a statement performance Monday night, beating the Chicago Bulls 136–101 to end the streak of two defeats. After the game, the star guard Anthony Edwards discovered that A extended travel delay set the tone for a dominant display.
Edwards explained that the team’s frustrations with the delayed flight to Chicago carried over once the game started.
“We were on the plane for about five hours,” Edwards said. “We took our frustration out on them tonight.
The circumstances behind that frustration were detailed earlier in the day by Chris Hine of the Minnesota Star Tribune, who reported that what should have been a routine trip turned into a long ordeal.
“Wolves had some problems with their flight yesterday coming into Chicago. Lots of waiting for the plane to take off. What was supposed to be a quick flight turned into a 6 hour experience, for multiple people.”

Once on the field, the Minnesota Timberwolves showed no signs of fatigue. Minnesota controlled the game early and steadily increased the margin, overwhelming the Chicago Bulls on both ends of the floor. The Timberwolves shot efficiently, pushed the pace and held Chicago to just 101 points.
Edwards finished with 23 points, four assists, two rebounds, one steal and one block in 32 minutes. He shot 9-for-13 from the field and 2-for-5 from three-point range, posting a plus-minus of plus-28 while consistently applying pressure on offense.
While Edwards set the tone, Naz Reed scored the most prolific score of the night. Reed led Minnesota with 33 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. He was very efficient, shooting 11-for-18 from the field, 6-for-10 from beyond the arc and a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw line in 27 minutes, finishing with a plus-minus plus-24.
The incredible win improved Minnesota to 21–12 on the season and bolstered the team’s depth and scoring balance as it heads into an extended stretch of the road. The Timberwolves’ ability to channel off-field adversity into on-field execution underscored their resilience.
Minnesota will look to build on the momentum Wednesday when the road trip continues against the Atlanta Hawks. The New Year’s Eve game is scheduled for 3:00 PM ET, and the Hawks enter the game at 15–19 and riding a seven-game losing streak.
