Anthony Edwards reveals when his light bulb went off

Like it or not, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is undoubtedly one of the faces of the NBA. He has proven time and time again that he is an elite talent who can attract large crowds with his electric style of play.
But Edwards has learned over the years that while top performances are great to see, he has to be a well-rounded player to help carry the Timberwolves to greater heights.
He has consistently improved various aspects of his game, including on-ball defense, three-point shooting and playmaking. 24-year-old Edwards shared that he the light bulb went out for him two years ago in the playoffs, as he realized his game couldn’t just be about getting buckets.
“It opened my eyes to say, ‘Okay, I’ve got to take off a little more to loosen it up.’ But now it’s just fun. I know they will trap me. Whatever they do, I got an answer for it,” the Timberwolves star said, as quoted by Chris Hein of the Minnesota Star Tribune.
Edwards helped Minnesota beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, 131-122, at Target Center on Thursday. He scored 25 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, one steal and one block.
He teamed with Julius Randle, who finished with 28 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists as the Timberwolves improved to 25-13.
They fell behind in the conference finals in back-to-back seasons, but with Edwards continues to mature and looking at the game through a different lens, it’s only a matter of time before he gets over the hump and reaches the NBA Finals.
