Anthony Edwards warns Shams Charania about trade leaks

Minnesota The Timberwolves trading Anthony Edwards is a bold prediction for the upcoming season. However, if that is ever the case, he wants notification from ESPN Shams Charania. Charania reflected on the Dallas Mavericks’ trade of Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers — the most shocking trade in recent NBA history — for Anthony Davis.

For Charania, the news was so incredibly surprising that he himself he wondered if it was a scamhe recalled on the YouTube channel of Anthony Edwards.

“The Luka Doncic trade — it was a wild night. And these awards are called the Believe That Awards, right? So I didn’t believe it,” Charania said. “I thought I was being catfished, honestly. I thought my phone was hacked. I thought the people who were sending me the information were hacked. I remember I got the first message at about 11:05 PM Central, Chicago.”

Moments before breaking the news, Charania admits he was shaking, given the level of shock that would follow his initial post on X (formerly Twitter).

“I’m chilling and I tweeted seven minutes later. So in between those seven minutes, my hands were shaking because you just know the consequences,” Charania added. “Nobody ever expects a guy like Luka – like you, Ant – nobody expects a player like you to be traded.”

Edwards immediately interrupted Shams Charania to give him advice.

“If you know I’m going to be replaced (soon), you better text me,” Edwards said. “Don’t miss that s***n on Twitter/X. Send me a message. Let me know.”

Timberwolves All-Star Anthony Edwards doesn’t think he’ll ever win DPOI. Playing alongside Rudy Gobert and defensive end Jaden McDaniels, Edwards doesn’t believe he’ll ever be in the running, Timberwolves reporter Andrew Dukowitz said.

“I don’t think I’m really going to win Defensive Player of the Year, I’ve got two of the best defenders on my team so it’s going to be hard for me to win. I don’t want to take that away from those guys,” Edwards said.

“But as long as my impact is there every night, I should be fine. As long as I’m on the all-defensive team, that means something. But defensive player of the year might be tough for me. But MVP and championship, that’s the goal.”

Edwards and the Timberwolves will look to build on their back-to-back appearances in the Western Conference Finals this upcoming season.
