Are Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen playing against the Raptors?

The Cleveland Cavaliers will face the Toronto Raptors, but there are several key players on the pre-game injury report. Donovan Mitchell is dealing with a left hamstring strain, and Jarrett Allen he has a left hand, a fracture of the fourth finger. Mitchell was on the injury report before this, and still ended up playing against the Boston Celtics.
As for Allen, he suffered a fracture on the finger during pregame warmups against the Celtics, but still decided to play through it without any protection. Mitchell and Allen have been important to the Cavs’ success so far this season, especially with players like Darous Garland and Max Struss sidelined with injuries.
Mitchell and Allen are both listed as questionable against the Raptors, meaning it could be 50-50 if they play. Mitchell has shown during his time with the Cavs that he will play if he can move. Right now, he is the most important player in the team, and he does the heavy lifting when it comes to scoring the ball. With Garland out, there’s even more responsibility on him to make things happen for the Cavs.
As for Allen, it’s uncertain if his finger has worsened since he last played on it, and if so, he may have to play with a splint. Despite the injury, Allen finished the game with 16 points and six rebounds, but the Cavs still lost.
It’s still pretty early in the season for players to try to work through injuries, and if Allen needs some time to get his finger better, that might be the best decision. If he’s okay with playing and if he can handle the pain, there’s no doubt he’ll do whatever suits him.
