At issue is Stephen Curry’s status with the Heat after tweaking his ankle

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry started hot in their game against the Orlando Magic at the Kia Center on Tuesday, he scored 22 points, including five 3-pointers in the first half. He cooled off after the break, however, as the Magic held on for a 121-113 win.

After the game, Curry confirmed that he sprained his right ankle in the first half, similar to what happened against the San Antonio Spurs in Friday’s NBA Cup game.

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, the 37-year-old guard “looks very uncertain” for their game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday. Curry said he would have to monitor as his right ankle fits in the next few hours.

“Those are the things you just have to play and try to figure out how to keep building momentum. We all know what the schedule was like,” Curry said.

“We try not to think too much about it. It is what it is. You have to find a way to overcome it. We did a decent job.”

The four-time champion, who paid tribute to Magic icons Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardawayhe finished with a career-high 32 points, including 7-of-15 shooting from deep, three rebounds, nine assists and three steals. He also had five turnovers.

Jimmy Butler backed Curry with 33 points on 10-of-16 shooting, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Curry, who suffered a hamstring injury in last season’s playoffs, has already missed four games this season. If he struggles against the Heat, Brandin Podziemski, Will Richard and Gary Payton II will have to pick up the slack in playmaking duties.
