Athletics’ Brent Rucker shares ‘Excited’ message after signing contract extension

Many athletics fans are still struggling to accept the franchise’s move from Oakland and continue to attack ownership. However, if one looks beyond the heartbreak, they will see a glimmer of hope on the horizon. A 19-win increase in 2024 sneakily positions the club in contention for a potentially interesting MLB season in 2025. Brent Rucker is extremely excited about the A’s future.

The All-Star designated hitter, who hit 39 home runs and 112 RBI while producing a stellar .293/.365/.562/.927 line in 2024, signed a five-year, $60 million contract extension earlier in the week. He is fiercely committed to helping the Athletics continue their gradual climb up the American League standings.

While some people will question his decision to sign the contract he made, Rooker has been waiting a long time to get any kind of confirmation. He is grateful to achieve this with A.

Brent Rucker and the Athletics are a great fit

Rucker, a first-round pick in 2017, bounced around with the Minnesota Twins, San Diego Padres and Kansas City Royals before landing a permanent role in 2023. He found refuge in the big leagues on the worst A’s team in Oakland history ( 50-112). Then he established himself as an exceptional offensive talent, making money the long-awaited Silver Slugger award in the last year of the football club in the city.

Despite playing only two full MLB seasons, Brent Rucker is considered one of the Athletics’ most outstanding leaders. He’s the current face of the operation, if you will. But the Germantown, Tennessee native isn’t their only notable talent. The roster has multiple individuals who could also become valuable franchise components.

Lawrence Butler hit 22 homers and stole 18 bases in just 125 games. JJ Bleday also adds some pop to the outfield. Luis Severino is the new ace pitching rotation and brings with him key experience and a solid 3.91 career ERA. Jeffrey Springs also deserves his. Mason Miller is arguably the most electric player in baseball today, striking out an incredible 104 in 65 innings.

This isn’t just a bunch of average Joes. Athletics should be competitive. The road to competence has been arduous and is still far from over, but Mark Kotsai’s team is moving forward. And Rucker is one of the people who proudly leads the way.
