Austin Reaves will return from a calf injury against the Suns

The The Los Angeles Lakers were playing solid basketball of late, although they recently suffered a tough road loss at the hands of the Phoenix Suns, which saw 4/5 of their entire starting lineup go out. One of those players was Austin Reeveswho has been out for more than a week with a calf injury.

However, on Tuesday afternoon, the Lakers received a positive injury update on the Reaves for their game that night against the Phoenix Suns.

“Austin Reaves has been upgraded to available and will play tonight for the Lakers against the Suns,” ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel reported on X, formerly Twitter.

Unfortunately, Luka Doncic will be sidelined for the Lakers after suffering a leg contusion against the Clippers, while Rui Hachimura and Gabe Vincent will also be out in Phoenix.

This game will mark the third time in the past few weeks that the Lakers and Suns have faced each other, with the teams tied 1-1 in the season series thus far.

Reaves can certainly provide a big offensive boost for the Lakers, especially without Doncic in the lineup due to a leg injury. It will be interesting to see if Reaves or James does the bulk of the offense when both players are on the court Tuesday night.

Either way, the Lakers and Suns are scheduled to tip off at 9:00 PM ET. After that, the Lakers will next hit the floor on Christmas Day for a game against the Houston Rockets.
