Ayo Dosunmu hopes to play against Cavs despite thumb injuries

Injuries for sure took their toll on Chicago Bulls. One player battling recurring injuries is Aio Dosunmu.
On Tuesday, Dosunmu said he sprained himself two thumbs and that he has a bone bruise on his right thumb, according to KC Johnson of the Chicago Sports Network. He had to tape both thumbs, the left one being the worst.
Still, he hopes to be on the mend in time before the Bulls take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. Recently, Dosunmu had to sit out the last two games due to a thumb injury. The Bulls are currently 10-14 and coming off a loss against the lowly New Orleans Pelicans 114-104, last week.
Dosunmu has played in 20 games so far and is averaging 15.2 points per game. In addition, he is averaging 27.8 minutes per game. Last year, Dosunmu finished the year averaging 12.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
His season was cut short due to a a shoulder injury that required surgery. Dosunmu has been playing in Chicago since being drafted in 2021 out of the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana. He is also a native of Chicago.
When Ayo Dosunmu is healthy, he is an exciting player.
For a team that has cultivated an identity as an attacking team, Dosunmu are taking their game to a whole new level. He’s not afraid to attack the rim, draw fouls and get up and go to the free throw line.
Furthermore, on defense he is known to guard much bigger players. Dosunmu also stands out for his versatility at his position. He can start when he needs to and come off the bench.
He also found his place among other guards, including Kobe White, Tre Jones and Josh Giddy. When the Bulls need Dosunma to depend on, they call. If they need his help, there will be no resistance; he’ll be there in no time.
