However, with Racing captain Bam Adebayo is dealing with a toe injurywould receive a major update ahead of the highly anticipated game.

Miami would practice Tuesday and upgrade Adebayo to “questionable” for tomorrow with a sprained toe, but the big man himself would say that “optimistic” that he will return to play against Golden State, according to Anthony Chang. There’s no doubt Adebayo felt he could have returned earlier, but that could just be the competitive nature he has, and the coaching staff and coaches “Save me from myself in a way.”

“You see both sides,” Adebayo said, according to The Sun Sentinel. “Some of it, obviously, you feel like you can help. And then on the other hand, you want to be completely healthy so it doesn’t come back. So you cross that line.”

“And then you turn to the head coach and the coaching staff,” Adebayo continued. “Because they both know I’m going to go out there and play regardless. So they had to save me from myself in a way. So it’s been a tough two weeks.”

As it is Heat get positive news on Tyler Hero’s injuries and Adebayo, the former still out, though making progress, saying on Sunday he expected to be back in one to two weeks. For Adebayo, his presence was absent, his second straight practice, as he missed the last six games of the season.

“He’s had two good practices in a row. There’s stuff behind the scenes. He’s really put in the time, the treatment, the active work,” Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra he said. “I think it was a responsible plan, and then we’ll see what the coaches say in the next 24 hours.”

If there are a few areas where Miami has slipped without Adebayo, it’s his rebounding and elite defense, which Spoelstra mentioned since he’s “one of the best two-way players in the game.”

“I don’t think it should be a surprise to people out there,” Spoelstra said. “You’re talking about one of the best two-way players in the game. He’s going to make an impact, and all these things he does are things that make a difference in winning.”

Either way, it remains to be seen if Adebayo will be further upgraded to be available for the upcoming contest, but the Heat appear to be winning as the team is 8-6 and faces Butler and the Warriors on Wednesday.
