Bam Adebayo, Tyler Hero once again in Pacers matchup

As it is The Miami Heat defeated the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night, 126-111, in a key victory for the team after losing eight of its last nine contests, the unit was without its two main stars, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro. With The heat is looking to get completely back on track for Saturday’s game against the Indiana Pacers will be without a duo again.

Miami’s injury report came out at 1:00 PM (EST) as it revealed Adebayo will miss a second straight game with lower back soreness, while Hero continues to miss more time with a toe contusion. Saturday’s game against the Pacers will be Herro’s seventh straight game missed; it’s also his ninth in his last 10 with a toe injury, having already missed the first 17 contests with offseason ankle surgery.

There’s no denying that injuries have plagued Miami this season, though Friday’s win over the Hawks was a great sign that the ship can be kept afloat for now, led by Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins, Jaime Jacquez Jr. and others.

Is a back injury the reason for Bam Adebayo’s struggles with the Heat?

Some might look Adebayo’s current heat slump and this injury and put the pieces together that the last problem was the reason for the fight. However, head coach Erik Spoelstra would not comment about whether that was the reason.

“I’m not going to comment on that. He wouldn’t want me to comment on that,” Spoelstra said Friday, according to The Miami Herald. “But we’re just going to do as much treatment as we can. I know he needs this right now.”

At the time, Spoelstra wasn’t 100 percent sure whether Adebayo would need much more time to recover, saying the team was treating him as “day-to-day.”

“We’ll see. We’ll take it day by day,” Spoelstra said. “I know him. I know his personality. I know how much he wants to be out there. But with his back sore and not moving well two days ago, yesterday was no better. Today was just full treatment and some light activity. So we’ll see where he is tomorrow.”

Either way, Miami will look to continue its winning streak as the team faces the Pacers once again without Adebayo and Hero.
