Bam Adebayo’s Heat resist Kevin Durant

heat rockets

Returning home for the Heat after two road losses in Milwaukee and Philadelphia. For his reunion with his audience, the Floridians, Sans Norman Powellhosted the Rockets. Pelle Larsson opens the scoring, but the Texans’ response is authoritarian with 11-0 for a six-point leadAmen Thompson (20 points, 11 rebounds). Spacing quickly reaches ten units after the long distance of the arrow from the logo Reed Sheppard (14-4).

Heat does not sink and rises quickly before moving in front over Jaime Jaquez Jr. In pursuit of the winger, Miami widens the gap. At the end of the first quarter, there was a sixth man Drew Smith with 3 points and, if Amen Thompson answers on the other side of the field, the Floridians lead after twelve minutes (32-28). The second act begins with another basket by Jaime Jaquez Jr. On tap off Kel’el Ware, The Heat leads by ten points (38-28).

Miami bends but doesn’t break

Conversely, Houston’s side is running out of gas. The men of Ime Udoka went five minutes without a single point. Finally, it is Aaron Holliday who ended the drought with the winning shot (41-31). However, like Miami in the first act, Houston came back to score. The comeback was led by Reid Sheppard, who made two consecutive game-winning shots before finding the net Kevin Durant (32 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists), also on 3 points (48-48). To complete this first half, the former Suns found Alperen Sengun which gives the advantage to the Texans (52-51).

He marked the start of the second half with an elbow to the face of Alperen SengunAndrew Wiggins. This one returns to the dressing room, and the Turk commits the fourth foul of the evening in this action and goes to sit on the bench. Without him, Houston still managed to go on a 10-0 run to briefly take control early Bam Adebayo (24 points, 11 rebounds) brings the advantage to his team (64-63). The Floridians lead the debate for much of this third act, but Houston stays in touch (85-83).

To start the fourth quarter, Alperen Sengun returned to the field and tied the two teams. Andrew Wiggins is also back and shows when he sends Kel’el Ware to complete the alley-oop. With less than three minutes left, the former Warriors winger cut the ball and finished the counterattack with 2+1. This last action sounds the death knell for the Rockets who are losing 115 to 105.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

Houston is so close, but ultimately so far. The Rockets trailed for almost the entire second half. If the deficit was never too great, the Texans never stopped chasing the score without reaching the lead. Each time, Miami had a solution to give itself some fresh air. Bam Adebayo appeared in the third quarter. Pele Larson hit his only 3-point shot in the final act, while the Andrew Wiggins / Kel’el Ware tandem was responsible for increasing the margin. In total, seven Heat players scored more than ten points, led by Bama Adebayo’s 24 points.

Kevin Durant too lonely. The Rockets winger worked from the first minute to the last to keep his team at bay. When Alperen Sengun has to join the bench because of his foul trouble, KD makes a series of baskets. However, his 32 points on 12/20 shooting were not enough to give the Texans a win as they missed a fourth straight game.

Miami restarts its quest for the top 6. Miami made top 6 is an obsession and the recent misstep against the Sixers has frustrated the troops not Bam Adebayo. A win was therefore imperative against the Rockets and that is certainly why Erik Spoelstra’s players were hard-working throughout the match despite a complicated start. Quickly falling behind by ten points, Floridians rallied to make a comeback and then debate. Accordingly, the residents of the Kasey Center started the three-game home streak in the best possible way before hosting the Nets twice.
