Bam Adebayo’s moment with Udonis Haslem in the middle of the rebounding chase

After Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo expressed frustration this season with their place in the Eastern Conference standings, they have a lot to celebrate, which was hilariously mentioned with Prime Video Udonis Haslem. Haslem, the Heat legend who holds the franchise record for most rebounds in a career (5,791), will soon be second in franchise history for most rebounds.

When Adebayo joined the team for a postgame interview following Saturday’s 115-105 win against the Houston Rockets, host Steve Nash joked that Haslem was disappointed to see Adebayo take his Heat franchise recordby NBA on Prime.

“UD is so salty here, you’re going to skip him on the all-time rebounding list with the Heat,” Nash said, prompting Adebayo to ask the team how close he is to passing Haslem.

Adebayo is 245 rebounds away from Haslem’s franchise record.

“Sorry, OG,” Adebayo said. “I love you to death. I’ll give you a game ball if you want it. But you know that record is mine, buddy.”

Udonis Haslem hasn’t expressed any interest in collecting Adebayo’s game ball since eventually surpassing Haslem’s all-time hitting record with the Heat, which he projects will be before the end of the regular season. Adebayo finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds in Saturday’s win against the Rockets.

Hall of Fame Dwiane Wade questioned Bama Adebayo’s stance on the Heatwhich is considered a talented team after playing in the postseason. Wade also addressed Adebayo’s statement during Prime Video’s pregame broadcast discussing his team’s recent loss.

“The same thing I asked Bam… Are you? That was my voicemail to Bam.”

Wade went on to emphasize that results ultimately determine where a team sits in the pecking order.

“Because men lie, women lie, numbers don’t. But I will say this, on Bam’s point that came back to me was — I think his disbelief, and probably the team’s disbelief comes from them being first in scoring, best in scoring, best in defense, so all the numbers are there. Now they have three guys with (Norman Powell) who were (Norman Powell, all) guys that have talent there as well, so I believe that’s where the disbelief comes from.

Adebayo and the Heat responded with a 10-point win against the Rockets on Saturday.
