Beau Bichet has been linked to Atlanta in free agency
The Atlanta Braves are trying to rebuild after a very disappointing season in 2025. While It has been mentioned that the Braves are looking to pitch this offseasonnew report sheds light on Atlanta’s pursuit of a shot. The Braves are connected free agent Bo Bichetteaccording to MLB.com.
“If they’re going to make any move, it would probably be for the daily track,” John Morosi said on Hot Furnace. “…..Maybe it’s Beau Bichet.”
Bichet played for the Toronto Blue Jays in recent years. He helped the Blue Jays reach the World Series in 2025. Toronto has been working on trying to re-sign the free agent, but no deal has yet been reached.
Several teams looking to make a shot this offseason have reached out to Bichet. Bichet finished the 2025 MLB regular season with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs. He hit a .311 average.
Atlanta missed the postseason in 2025 after finishing the campaign with a 76-86 record.
The Braves are working on a roster update
The The Braves have a new manager heading into 2026. Walt Weiss, former assistant, replaces Brian Snicker. Weiss says yes ready to take on the job.
“There are some things we need to get back to, but at the end of the day, it’s got to be me with my voice and my touch,” Weiss told MLB.com. “I understand that. But I’ve learned a lot from all those people I’ve been around — from Tony in the beginning to (Brian Snicker) and everyone in between. I’ll take something from all of them. But at the end of the day, it’s going to be my voice. So it’s going to be me, and it’s going to be different than anybody else I’ve been around.”
Atlanta was rumored to be looking to start the lineup this offseason. Framber Valdez is seen as a target, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney. Valdez is an effective starter.
“Since 2020, Valdez has induced a groundout on 62% of the fly balls he’s allowed. That’s the highest strikeout rate in the country this decade among regular starting pitchers,” MLB.com’s David Adler wrote.
Time will tell if the Braves are able to sign some of these free agents. Bichette is also being pursued by the Boston Red Sox.
