Billy Donovan slams on the brakes saying Matas Buzlis has ‘arrived’

When comes talent and self-confidenceMatas Buzelis from Chicago Bulls has both. And that’s a good thing, too, because Chicago it will take Bouzelis to stand out with Kobe White out with a calf injury for the start of the season.
Before bulls season opener against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, head coach Billy Donovan made it a point to draw Buzelis in and remind him that he still has work to do. When asked by NBA.com’s Sam Smith about how Bouzelis intends to stand out with his brashness, Donovan said what any coach would say.
” I mean, this is probably more my personality. I’m always worried about those things,” Donovan said. “That’s it not only Matas, it is to everyone. I am sitting here, listening to what the community is saying about Matas. That’s it more about keeping Matas grounded. He is he didn’t arrive. That’s it just the truth. I love Matas. I think he has an incredible runway to be an outstanding player in this league. If he keeps this drive and his motivation and no to think he is arrived.”

Bouzelis is entering his second season with the Bulls.
Matas Bouzelis has the makings to be a star for the Bulls.
So far, Bouzelis has put up some impressive numbers that show his true potential. He averaged 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last season. In addition, Bouzelis shot 45.4% from the field, 36.1% from the three-point line and 81.5% from the free throw line.
He played a total of 80 games. During the summer, Bouzelis indeed flourished while playing in the NBA Summer League. Against the Indiana Pacers, he scored 28 points and shot 8-for-14 from the field. Recently, Bouzelis expressed his goal to win NBA Most Improved Player of the Year honors.
Overall, he is a new star in the making, and with the right focus, his star will shine very quickly.
