Bo Nick dismisses an ‘excited’ view of the upcoming Chargers showdown
The Denver Broncos improved to 13-3 from 20-13 beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Eve. Denver has consistently ranked first in close games all season. And the Broncos won another game by one score in Week 17 – their 11th win of the year.
Denver has already won a playoff spot by beating the Packers in the 15th week. On Thursday, the Broncos became the first team to reach 13 wins this season. Denver controls its own destiny as the team will secure the AFC West crown and the top seed with a win in Week 18. But the Los Angeles Chargers stand in the way, setting up a huge showdown between the division rivals in the regular season finale.
Although facing such a familiar foe is no easy feat, Bo Nick is looking forward to the challenge. “At the end of the day, it’s going to come down to us vs. them. We’re excited to have them at home,” Nix said of the Chargers’ upcoming matchup, per Zach Stevens of DNVR Sports.
Bo Nix is looking for his first career win against the Chargers in Week 18

The Knicks and Broncos battled the other division rival on Christmas Eve. And while the Chiefs have already been eliminated from the playoffs, they held Denver to a 20-13 victory in Week 17.
Kansas City actually led 10-6 early in the second half. But with the score tied midway through the fourth quarter, the Broncos took control. Nix led a 14-play, 65-yard drive that lasted more than six minutes.
The Knicks eventually found RJ Harvey for a touchdown, and Denver held on for the seven-point win. Now the team turns its attention to the Chargers.
“I didn’t beat them. It’s going to be a good nine days of preparation. … We’re excited about it,” Nix said after Thursday night’s win.
While the second-year KB has faced Los Angeles three times in his career, he is 0-3 against the team. The Chargers swept Denver last season. And LA made a dramatic comeback, winning 43 yards as time expired when the teams met in Week 3 this year.
The Knicks hope to get their first win against the Chargers in Week 18. If he can slay the dragon in the regular season finale, the Broncos will be the top seed in the AFC, and earn a spot in the first round of the playoffs.
