Brady Cook’s reaction “extremely disappointed” to the crush

The New York Jets‘ rebuild took another tough turn Sunday afternoon at the Caesars Superdome, where a struggling offense and young quarterback endured a humiliating 29-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints (5-10).
Starting signal-caller Brady Cook got a chance to prove it he could develop into a long-term option, but the results only raised more questions about the Jets’ immediate future under center.
After the game, Cook did not run away from the emotional toll the loss took in the locker roomespecially as the season winds down to 3-12 and frustration mounts.
“Extremely disappointed. We came here ready, ready to win this game, and we didn’t do it,” Cook said in a postgame press conference. “Of course you’re going to feel disappointed about that. But all you can do now is get back to work, we’ve got two games left and we’ve got to play for each other and fight for each other and find a way to get the win.” Brady Cook said
Cook’s comments reflect a team still searching for direction. Despite the possibility of returning veteran Tyrod Taylor, who returned from a groin injury this week, The Jets decided to continue evaluating Cookhoping he can show improvement with extended reps.
Instead, the offense stalled repeatedly, finishing with just 195 yards and failing to reach the end zone. The game plan was decidedly conservative early on, as Cook managed just 74 passing yards in the first half.
While his numbers improved a bit after halftime, he struggled to push the ball downfield and failed to complete a pass more than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage until late in the game.
The turnovers also proved costly, including a strip-sack early in the fourth quarter and an interception on a desperation fourth down attempt that effectively ended any hopes of a comeback.
Poor protection compounded the problem, as Cook was sacked eight times, underscoring ongoing concerns about the offensive line. By the end of the afternoon, the Jets defense struggled to establish itselfallowing the Saints to dictate the pace.
While Cook’s candid response after the game showed maturity, the organization now has a decision to make whether the continuation of the evaluation serves the purpose — or whether the focus is shifting entirely to reshaping the quarterback room ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
