Brandon Ingram day to day with sprained thumb

The Toronto Raptors could miss services Brandon Ingram in the next few games after suffered a thumb injury against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday.
He endured it in the second quarter and did not return to the game. Toronto survived with a one-point victory, 97-96, thanks to Immanuel Quickley’s 3-pointer in passing.
Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic told Ingram the status is from day to day.
“He just sprained his right thumb. We did X-rays that were negative. At this point, he’s day-to-day,” Rajakovic said in a video posted by Raptors reporter Omer Osman.
Ingram recorded six points, two assists and three blocks in 11 minutes against the Hornets.
The Raptors improved to 23-15, posting their third straight win.
Ingram is expected to be sidelined against the Boston Celtics on Friday.
With fruitful progress, Sandro MamukelasviliJa’Kobe Walter and Ochai Agbaji should see an increase in playing time. He’ll have big shoes to fill, as Ingram is averaging 21.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
Despite Rajakovic’s upbeat tone, fans could still be concerned, especially since Ingram’s injury history has hampered his progress. He was traded to the Raptors in February but did not appear in any games due to an ankle injury. Prior to this campaign, he had played just 182 games in four seasons.
Rajakovic has repeatedly spoken about the importance of Ingram, saying that he does not want to change the style of play of the former All-Star, as reported by TSN Sports’ Josh Levenberg in April. Rajakovic also called Ingram a “very good passer.”
