Brandon Ingram’s gesture to a match follower after the water bottle incident

Brandon Ingram has become the subject of much criticism over the weekend after his outburst led to an unfortunate action involving a match monitor. During Toronto Raptors‘ In last Saturday’s 130-120 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, Ingram was so filled with rage that he kicked a water bottle while on the bench – hitting a matchmaker in the face in the process. To make matters worse, Ingram didn’t even apologize to the person he hit, on purpose or not.

As a result, The NBA fined Ingram $25,000and this seemed to teach the 28-year-old striker a valuable lesson. The outburst appeared to be highly unusual for the Raptors forward, and he later expressed remorse for his actions. According to Danielle Michaud of SportsNet, Ingram expressed regret because of the way his frustration with his own performance manifested itself and he has already apologized to the person he hit.

In the heat of the moment, it’s very understandable if someone loses their cool like Ingram did. What made the situation so unfortunate was that he showed no sign of remorse after punching the match attendant and simply drowned in his frustrations even more.

But the Raptors forward doesn’t exactly have a history of bullying other people, so he deserves mercy even after what he’s done. This is especially the case now that he has apologized to the match monitor and made amends for his mistake. Nobody is perfect though; it’s how one reacts that matters, and Ingram seems to be reacting well after his mistake.
