Brock Purdy’s injury update suggests a return in Week 11

The The San Francisco 49ers have been decimated by injuries again in the 2025 NFL season. Despite this, the team is still 6-4 and currently in the NFC Wild Card spot. While the injuries on defense pile up, the offense gets healthier bit by bit.

With a Week 11 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, the 49ers may soon have their starting quarterback back.

San Francisco Standard reporter David Lombardi posted a video Purdy at training on Wednesday, with the catchy caption:

“Another very clear increase in training since Brock Purdywho has definitely been the closer to play in each of the past three weeks. It’s safe to say now that Purdy is in line to start on Sunday. You have to spend a week on this course.”

Purdy certainly looks like he’s moving just as well as he suffered a toe injury in Week 2. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Purdy was a limited but “aggressive” participant, with the expectation that it will begin on Sunday.

In the absence of Purdy, Mac Jones played outstandingly. He completed 69.6% of his passes, throwing 13 touchdowns with just six interceptions. In last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Jones finished 33-of-39 for 319 yards with three TDs and one pick.

The 49ers are road favorites with 2.5 points in Arizona, a number that could increase after Wednesday’s practice.

San Francisco returned wide receiver Jauan Jennings from injury a few weeks ago. Finally looking healthy and producing. The same can be said for Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle. Even Ricky Pearsall is back in training, but his status this week remains under threat.

On the other hand, the Cardinals announced that their top offensive player, Marvin Harrison Jr., underwent appendectomy and it is turned off.
