With Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham leads the team to great success this season, the point guard also wants to bring his talents and showcase them on the international stage. While Cunningham led Pistons to blow up the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night, the team heads into the All-Star break feeling good, even as the star talks about his future on the Olympic stage.
The next event is in 2028, when the Olympics will be in Los Angeles, California, because it cannot be denied that they judged the 2024 Team USA and other teams, names such as LeBron James, Stephen Curryand Kevin Durant were at the helm. With them not getting any younger, Cunningham could be one of the players to pass the torch, talking about how “take the torch.”
“I could take the torch if I just keep working, keep getting better every year, keep taking steps to lead this team to more and more wins,” Cunningham said, via AndScape . “Winning the championship is the ultimate goal. And then when that happens, staying calm and humble, coming back next year and working every game. It’s a process.
“There’s a lot of different things that go into it,” Cunningham continued. “All those (top) guys have done all those things and put in the work. So that’s what I want to do.”

“The All-Star Game in Los Angeles was part of that plan,” Cunningham said. “I wanted to make sure I was there. And then to win the championship and be the Olympic point guard.”
Either way, the Pistons are 40-13, atop the East, as the team looks to build a comfortable lead.
