Cade Cunningham relentless for the Celtics!

The Pistons passed the TD Garden test! Three weeks after seeing him The 13-game winning streak ends in Massachusetts, Detroit held on until the end this time, resisting the white-brown duo in excellent form (31 and 34 points), but a bit lonely. For their part, JB Bickerstaff’s men were able to use their team to tip the scales (9 players with 7 points or more) before relying on an impeccable Cade Cunningham in the final.
Facing the best record in the conference, Boston gained confidence with 3/3 from distance by Peyton Pritchard (twice) and Jordan Walsh, and then on a power display by Jaylen Brown, author of three consecutive baskets, including 2+1 to create the first deficit. The 2024 NBA Finals MVP then served up a 3-pointer to Hugo Gonzalez before seeing Derrick White finish the first act at +8, still a 3-pointer (33-25).
Suffering against the C zone, Detroit smartened up through its defense and transition game, but also through outside skills through Cade Cunningham and Javonte Green. The answer was sharp with a 16-2 run by Ron Holland that put the Pistons back in the lead (41-43). Boston regained the lead just before the break thanks to two baskets by Jaylen Brown (57-53), but the situation soon got complicated.
Detroit strong until the end
Cade Cunningham’s two 3-pointers after returning from the locker room, then an altercation between Jaylen Brown and Isaiah Stewart was credited with completely restarting the Pistons.

Cade Cunningham then found Caris LeVert behind the arc to make it 10-1 and put his team back in front (67-68). While Boston too often had to rely on the exploits of Jalen Brown to score, Detroit developed its collective, with 2+1 of Jaden Ivey and Caris LeVert, and then the dunk of the latter to approach the last part in the best conditions (79-85).
The deficit increased to +8 in favor of Detroit after a huge slap from enemy number 1 Isaiah Stewart (85-93). Derrick White tried to spark a revolt with a 3-pointer and a Cade Cunningham floater (his fifth) to keep his team in the game. Finally, as time on the money approached (and after Derrick White’s airball), Caris LeVert’s layup, followed by a 3-pointer followed by Javonte Green’s huge dunk in transition put Boston back ten lengths (93-103).
WHAT TO REMEMBER
When Jaylen Brown and Isaiah Stewart try wrestling. Side by side, after Auzar Thompson’s free throw, Jaylen Brown and Isaiah Stewart went from basketball to battle to decide the best position on the rebound. A brief but heated altercation resulted in a technical foul for both actors, but we can note that it was Detroit who benefited from this episode. Detroit actually multiplied the defensive plays after that, with free Isaiah Stewart on the verge of a second tackle after making a huge counter on Brown. At the same time, the Pistons also took advantage of the opportunity and did not give up after that.
Two missed throws by Jaylen Brown. JB put up a hell of a fight, especially to get his team back in the game when they were down by ten points, between his key 3-pointer and his two huge counterattacks on Caris LeVert and Auzar Thompson, which then went to Derrick White who was also on fire. But all this good work was destroyed by two missed free throws at the worst moment, at 102-106, which could have upset the end of the match.
Cade Cunningham’s poise. His best 3-point game of the season, going 6/10 in practice, but most of all a breathtaking finish as he returned to the court with five personal fouls at the end of the match. After JB missed two shots, it was he who blew the whistle at halftime thanks to two simply perfect mid-range baskets after Derrick White’s head was spinning. 32 points on 11/21 shooting and 10 assists for the boss game, another one!
