Cam Heyward hits Pittsburgh hard after Week 8 loss to Packers

The Pittsburgh Steelers they are not happy after the 8th week. The first quarter of their Sunday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers saw Aaron Rodgers and co. beat their NFC North counterparts. It seemed like Rodgers would get a win against his former team a few years after the trade.

alas, The Steelers completely collapsed in the second half. While the offense was sluggish at times in the second half, Pittsburgh’s defense completely bottomed out against the Packers. Jordan Love erupted for three touchdowns after halftime as the Packers beat the Steelers 35-25 and handed them their second straight loss.

After the game, the Steelers added a rusher Cam Heyward he didn’t mince his words about the team. Hayward bluntly said that “There’s not a lot of strife between us right now,” and that they are he got too caught up in the discussion about punishments instead of focusing on the game.

“We can’t let penalties or things going against you affect your heart in the game,” Hayward said, per Joe Rutter . “When you have a love affair with this game, there always has to be a purchase.”

It looked like the Steelers were going to run away after the first half. They led 20-7 after two quarters, with Aaron Rodgers scores a touchdown. While Pittsburgh struggled to get into the end zone, Chris Boswell’s excellent performance meant the Steelers kept getting points as long as they got close enough. It also helped that Packers kicker Brandon McManus also missed his field goals.

However, something changed in the second half. The Packers came out firing, and Love found his groove after the break. Tight end Tucker Kraft caught two Lions touchdown passes, while Josh Jacobs found the end zone once. On the other hand, the Steelers couldn’t get out of their slump. Rodgers threw another touchdown, but again they were mostly limited to field goals.

With the loss, the Steelers fell to a 4-3 record. If not for the Cincinnati Bengals’ loss to the Jets, Pittsburgh would have relinquished the division lead. With the Ravens getting healthier by the day and the Bengals still looming as an immediate threat, the Steelers need to be on their A-game in the coming weeks.
