Cavaliers on display in Detroit
![]()
Slow against the Bucks the day before Cavaliers were more convincing in Detroit the day after. Never worried about the game, to the extent that they were up to 30 points ahead in the second half, teammates Donovan Mitchell (35 points) et Jarrett Allen (20 points, 7 rebounds) therefore leaves Michigan with a big success in the pocket (116-95).
It all finally came down to the end of the first quarter, when Donovan Mitchell started his first dinner. Author of 9 points on 11-0 that refused Clips “Spida” was placed on ten units. Cleveland forever in the lead, while the two teams were tied at that moment. Then a 14-0 run early in the second quarter made it a point ahead, ledEvan Mobley (15 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks) and Dean Wade.
After that, the gap continued to widen, as Cade Cunningham accumulated misses (3/14 shots), and the duo Evan Mobley – Jarrett Allen did not fail to push their opponents into the paint, offensively and defensively. In the end, this resulted in a clearly dominated match and a convincing victory. Third straight for the Cavs (and incidentally 13th in 14 games against the Pistons).
TO BE REMEMBERED
– Cleveland didn’t want to hang around. In this part, the uncertainty lasted only ten minutes. This is the time it took Donovan Mitchell to get going and start an 11-0 run that allowed the Cavaliers to pull away at the end of the first quarter. Well supported by the dominating Jarrett Allen under the panels, the fearsome Evan Mobley on defense, the skilled Sam Merrill from long range, the versatile De’Andre Hunter and an efficient bench, “Speed” led his team to an easy victory, showing all his qualities as a pure scorer, in just 18/23 minutes!
– Detroit misses back-to-back. Unlike the Cavaliers (12-4), the Pistons weren’t used to leading the second round of their back-to-back games last season: 6-9. This has been confirmed for their first sequence in 2025/26. Like Cade Cunninghamuninspired and almost unrecognizable, the locals gave a disappointing performance after two wins in a row. Clumsy, naive in defense, undisciplined with the ball in hand and behind all their defenders, they missed everything last night. So, a meeting to forget.
