Celtics in demonstration against the Bulls

A week after the transfer agreement, in between Nikola Vucevic and Anferni SimmonsTHE Celtics and the Bulls met for the third time this season, at TD Garden.

An opportunity for Boston to start again, after a heavy defeat on Sunday against New York, by crushing Chicago without forcing (124-105). With 26 points and 8 assists Payton Pritchard24 points Jailen Brown or 19 points and 11 rebounds from Nikola Vucevic.

Everything was decided in the first half of this game. It’s time for the Celtics to show their 3-point, paint and rebounding superiority. If Jalen Brown led them on the right path, especially the duo of Pritchard/Vucevic who came off the bench helped them finish the first quarter with a lead of 14-4. Before the start of the second 18-4, still led by Peyton Pritchard, this time supported by Jordan Walsh and Sam Hauser.

Largely in control at the break (72-44), thanks to a better performance in attack, but also in defense, Boston then allowed itself to relax a little. Leaving Chicago to compete and even dominate in sequences, but still suffer a sixth straight loss.

Well done matchup by the second best team in the East, who can now enjoy the All-Star break.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

A gathering evening. Just a week ago, Nikola Vucevic was in Chicago, and Anferni Simmons was in Boston. Seven days later, the two players were “swapped” and because of that, Vucevic is the one who leaves this opposition with a smile, unlike Simmons. “Vooch” also had a key role in this encounter, with his “double-double” coming off the bench and his ability to shine in several sectors of the game. Which significantly allowed the Celtics to increase the deficit in the first half.

Boston will enter the All-Star break ranked No. 2. Even without Jayson Tatum, the Celtics can be happy to see that they have 35 wins in 54 games. So, he climbed to 2nd place in the Eastern Conference, just ahead of the Knicks and Cavaliers (but still five and a half games behind the Pistons). The first part of the season is therefore a real success in Massachusetts, and we are already looking forward to the second, to see if the return from injury of the All-Star winger can increase this team’s title chances.
