Chandler Parsons says Atlanta should make Anthony Davis trade

The Atlanta Hawks they made the first blockbuster deal of the trade season when they sent franchise star Trae Young to the Washington Wizards. The NBA trade deadline is February 5 so it is possible that they are not done dealing, but one name The Hawks have been linked to Dallas Mavericks big man Anthony Davis.
Anthony Davis is another big name that has appeared in trade rumors in recent weeks, and he counts former NBA player Chandler Parsons as one of the proponents who believes the Hawks should play for the Mavericks All-Star. During a recent episode of ‘Run It Back’ on FanDuel TV, Parsons presented the case why the Hawks should pull the trigger on a Davis trade.
“If I’m Atlanta, and I’m kind of in the middle of the pack, I just got rid of Treo Young and I got my future guy, whether we bring in Anthony Davis or not, in Jaylen Johnson, I think I’m fine to swing for the fences here and go ahead and get this done,” Parsons said. “If it works, great. If not, then at least we hit our shot and went to get a player from around the world. It’s a lot to give up, but I think I’d do it.”
The trade scenario proposed on the show had the Hawks trading Kristaps Porzingis, Zachary Rizacher, Vito Krejci and the Mavericks’ first-round pick for Davis. That’s a lot for Davis, who is currently sidelined with a hand injury. Risacher was the first pick last season, and it’s possible the Hawks’ pick ends up in the lottery.
When healthy, Davis has proven he can make a difference. He has appeared in just 20 games this season for the Mavericks, averaging just over 31 minutes per game. He is averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.7 blocks while shooting 50.6 percent from the field, 27 percent from the 3-point line and 72.8 percent from the free throw line.
However, according to recent reports, this is increasingly likely Davis is staying with the Mavericks at the NBA trade deadline.
