Chicago changes Anferna Simmons injury assessment ahead of Hornets game

Things look bleak for Chicago Bulls. They are in the midst of a nine-game losing streak and some key players are injured. One of them is Anfernee Simmons, who is out with a wrist injury.

On Tuesday, Taurus announced the change on Simmons’ status for the game against the Charlotte Hornets, per KC Johnson of the Chicago Sports Network. Although Simmons will not play, he has a left wrist contusion, not a sprain.

Simmons hurt his wrist on Saturday during a game against the Detroit Pistons. He played 14 minutes and scored four points.

Meanwhile, Jaylen Smith is listed as “questionable” with a strained left calf. Smith it was pulled from the third quarter on Sunday against the New York Knicks.

Simmons is averaging 15.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in six games with Chicago. He arrived in Chicago as part of trade who sent Nikola Vucevic to the Boston Celtics. Before that trade, Simmons played in 49 games with Boston and averaged 14.2 points per game.

The Bulls are 24-34 and have not won a game this month. After Tuesday, Chicago will stay at home and close out the month against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday.

On Sunday, the Bulls will begin March against the Milwaukee Bucks at home.

Additionally, Jaden Ivey is out with right knee pain. Moreover, Zach Collins is out of year after toe surgery.

The Bulls once again face a thin, depleted roster in the second half of the season.
