Chiefs’ Chris Jones gets stuck with Taylor Swift on the presser

The Kansas City Chiefs presser had a little mini-concert of his own, thanks Chris Jones.
In a moment that has since gone viral, the Chiefs defensive tackle walked into the press on Thursday, Oct. 30, while belting out lyrics for Taylor Swift‘The fate of Ophelia.
“Hold him a table on land, sea, sky,” he sang, nodding his head and smiling broadly.
“The Fate of Ophelia” is the lead track for Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. The record has been getting a lot of attention lately, and not just because it topped the Billboard Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks. Fans believe that Swift’s fiance, Travis Kelce referenced the song when he scored his 100th career touchdown. During his celebration, he moves his hands to some of the lines she sings: “Pledge allegiance to your hands, to your team, to your vibes.”

During an interview after the game, he talked about how he felt at the moment.
“I’m putting pads back on like I’m 15,” he joked to SportsCenter. “I love every bit of it.”
“I like to fill people with happiness and excitement and fix things that need fixing,” he continued. “At the same time, bring in some swagger or excitement, bring in some fun.”
“We appreciate each of these games, not knowing how long we will be able to do it.”

Believe it or not, the touchdown celebration was seen as Kelce’s second sign of attention to his fiancee, who he proposed to in August after two years of dating. During his walk through the tunnel, he wore a mostly orange ensemble leading fans to believe he was paying homage to Swift as her theme for the season was orange with sparkles.
The Chiefs next game is against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, November 2nd.
